Last Wednesday’s session at St. Mary’s extra care scheme in Lutterworth was slightly quieter than normal; school holidays you see, so our St. Mary’s team were buddy-less for the week!
Turn out was still good and we spent the afternoon drawing some beautiful still life flowers and talking about how important gardens and green spaces are to our lives. All while the neighbourhood squirrels brazenly sat outside eating the bird nuts!
A lot of our St. Mary’s participants struggle with their sight now, but the familiarity of roses, iris and crysthanamum helped to create some lovely pieces of artwork, guided by community artist Winsome Ruddock and myself.
Below are a few of the paintings and drawings produced and let’s not forget that this group is made up of the one’s that “can’t do art”.
